OHSWEKEN (August 4, 2022) — The Six Nations Cannabis Commission (SNCC) is pleased to announce that a cannabis production license has been issued to Grand River Medical, a business solely owned by a Six Nations band member and local entrepreneur.
Grand River Medical is proud to bring to Six Nations a state-of-the-art vertically integrated medical growing facility. The owner stated, “I’m very excited to supply the Six Nations community with locally grown medical grade craft cannabis that local dispensaries, community members, and visitors to our community can purchase, trust, and rely on.”
ABOUT SNCC
- Six Nations of the Grand River (SNGR) created the SNCC to develop and implement a comprehensive cannabis regulatory regime that will ensure the health and safety of community members and that cannabis businesses operating on the Territory that are licenced by the SNCC are contributing to the economic well-being of all Six Nations people.
- The SNCCL and the Six Nations of the Grand River Cannabis Control Regulations (SNGRCCL)) came into effect on June 21, 2021.
- Anyone who wishes to operate a cannabis business (production or retail sale) on Six Nations Territory must apply for and be issued a licence by the SNCC, and comply with the ongoing licensing and health and safety requirements contained in the SNGRCCL and the SNGRCCR which can be found online at www.sncannabis.ca.
